Cornerstone Nurseries are run by highly motivated and experienced, qualified Nursery Managers. Each Manager is supported by a skilled Deputy and a team of professional practitioners.
Our staff team are always on hand to help, they have a comprehensive knowledge of the EYFS and our policies and procedures. Every child will be allocated a key-person who is responsible for ensuring that we have a deep understanding of your child’s needs, abilities and interests, this ensures that we can plan activities uniquely for them as an individual.
We have a commitment to our teams’ continuous professional development, meaning that we ensure all staff will have access to further training during their career at Cornerstone.
We aim for ALL staff to have a qualification in paediatric first aid, rest assured we guarantee to always have first aiders on site at all times for your peace of mind.
Our playrooms are designed to be open plan, spacious and fun with free access to resources in areas set up for play and exploration to include mark making, role play, maths, literacy, expressive arts and design, messy play along with quiet comfy zones for reading or rest.
We believe outdoor environments are important to good health, mental stimulation and active learning. We provide wonderful outdoor spaces, large and enclosed with an abundance of activities including gardening, planting vegetables, water play, hunting for creepy crawlies and cooking in one of our mud kitchens!
In addition to our gardens, we provide free flow play areas to all over 2’s classrooms, this means that children can choose to be outside at any time during their play sessions.
We have two settings, our flagship setting at Priestley Road, RG24 9PU close to Winklebury, Rooksdown, Houndmills Business Estate and the North Hampshire Hospital and our smaller home from home setting at Abbey Court, Popley, RG24 9DX.
Both settings despite being jointly owned, are uniquely different in what they have to offer so we recommend a viewing of both nurseries to see which one better suits you and your child.
Cornerstone Day Nursery
This spacious day nursery offers a place for children to learn in a bright, open environment. 10 uniquely designed playrooms adjoin a patio play space allowing for the free flow of both indoor and outdoor play.
The nursery also boasts a ¼ acre of landscaped garden space to explore, ranging from playground areas to shady wooded areas where children can search for creepy crawlies. Children can get involved with the planting of vegetables and flowers, making the garden a perfect place for learning as well as play.
We understand that healthy eating is important, so your child’s diet at Cornerstone Day Nursery will be healthy and varied, encompassing dishes from around the world. As every child is different, we will happily discuss weaning with each parent to ensure that every child’s individual needs are met.

Comfortable rooms and a homely atmosphere make this friendly, 43-place nursery the perfect environment to ensure that your child’s unique interests and requirements are met by our play-based curriculum.
As with all Cornerstone nurseries, our qualified and motivated staff members embrace a key-person policy to ensure that every individual child has the support they need to settle into nursery life and reach their full potential.
The fully enclosed garden boasts a huge array of activities from construction, to role play, gardening and sensory activities.
Our menu promotes home cooked foods and we’re happy to cater for any dietary requirements.
